Guns In Today’s Modern Society

Many people question why some countries and states don’t have police officer that carry guns. The reason tends to be that through consideration and debate that countries government decided that the use of such weapons either as a deterrent or a preventative measure just won’t work for them.

Many people assume that because the local police or authorities carry weapons that crime will drop heavily and that criminals will be a lot less likely to carry out their activities but this isn’t always proven to be the case. Many people in these types of countries are often allowed to own guns themselves and wouldn’t have it any other way!

Those with small children might feel that they want to shield their child or children from firearms but the sad thing is that they are a part of our day to day lives. They may not be apparent on the street you live on but they will be seen in many forms on the TV or in the news where many places at war are depicted along with their use of weaponry. Kids will often still play cops and robbers despite never being bought a toy gun.

There are alternatives to using weaponry and many think that limiting their uses only to those that really need to have them like the police, army, rangers and the like will be the answer. But other people think they have a right to own their own firearms so they can feel safe and know they aren’t at a disadvantage in any way.

The problem here is that we’re all human, some people may not look after their weapon. It may get into the wrong hands and be used in criminal activity to deprive others of their goods or to even wound or injure them. On the flip side they have been known to act as a deterrent when used in war torn places by the patrolling army and police.

They’re also a lot less dangerous than people think when in the home a person usually hides a gun so well that only the intended owner knows where it is or can access it. We don’t hear that often of a child finding a gun and most people are wise enough to store a gun and its ammo totally separately.

Because of the stigma attached to these weapons we have become very scared of them. But it isn’t the gun you need to worry about, it’s the person holding it and their intentions that are the real concern.
