Paris Short Breaks By Rail For The Family

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

Usually when people select a hotel break most cities are not enjoyable for children, So the adults would be happy visiting museums and the kids are more likely to be bored. One of the better options is a trip to Paris when the grownups can savor the many cultural activities and sights and you can also take a couple of days away for some essential family enjoyment.

For anybody who has gone to one of the Disney theme parks in the United States you will know how much enjoyment the children could have, not to mention the adults. Just outside Paris is Disneyland Resort where there is easy access by rail right to the park gates.

There are some similar rides and some you may have not been on before however the basic idea is the same you will all have a great time. By mixing the two contrasting elements you could make a family hotel break that all the household could enjoy.

When staying in Paris you have many different options to choose from. You could stay in the Disneyland Resort, which will give you special access to the park and enable you to spend longer there especially at night. Rather than have to depart early to get back to your accommodation in the center of Paris you could get the children off to bed at the same time and you are able to stay longer in the theme park.

There are lots of hotels near to the theme park, which will provide convenient access of being simply a few moments away by rail but cheaper in cost. A solution some people choose is to stay for a few nights in the center of Paris and then stay a couple of nights in or near the theme park.

As the children get older they may learn to value a visit to one of the many museums If not you could still keep everybody happy by having a mix of fun and culture.

Perhaps for a really unique option you could mix a stay in Paris with a stay in London. Going to and from the cities is easy either by cheap flight deals or by direct train links using Eurostar.

Rail Breaks can offer a great way to visit the most popular cities at affordable prices. Travel by rail to Paris or London with great Eurostar prices and beat the plane, find out more with advice from Peter Parker of HotelBreaks.com

Enjoy Graduation With Disney Grad Nite

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Do you enjoy Disney theme parks? Are you a high school senior? If so, you may be able to participate in Disney Grad Nite, one of the most exciting opportunities available to grads.

The Disney Grad Nite happens at Disneyland and Walt Disney World a few times a year during graduation “season.” This means that both people on the East coast and the West coast are able to enjoy this fabulous occasion. Because it is only possible to enjoy this night a few times a year, and only when you are a senior in college, it is best to plan the trip in advance.

This night allows seniors to get unlimited rides on popular rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, and Thunder Mountain. Because the parks are closed to everyone other than seniors and their chaperones, the lines for rides that are normally huge may be much smaller. There are also many other wonderful events, such as concerts, that can be enjoyed on Grad Nite.

Because Grad Nite opens the park to young people, the event can serve as a fun and social event. Teens do not have to worry about parents with strollers and crying babies - they are surrounded by their own peers. This opportunity allows people to socialize and meet with people from different schools who are their own age.

Concerts within the parks are ample, and feature both popular and new artists. This helps grads to enjoy several concerts and exciting rides for the price of one ticket.

If you choose Disney Grad Nite for your graduation celebration you can pretty sure that you will have a safe night. Youth are checked for alcohol and other items that are not allowed into the park ahead of time. This means that grads can enjoy themselves without the dangers of some high school parties. Because chaperones are also there, they also help to keep the students out of trouble. And, best of all, the night is full of fun.

Disney Grad Nite is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for high school seniors. Unless you plan on chaperoning your children to the event in the future, there is only one time in your life that you can attend it. This means that if you want to have a great time with your friends, enjoy the excitement of having the park “all to the seniors, ” and want to enjoy tons of concerts, you should sign up as soon as you can.

This is Going To Be a Fantastic Romantic Disney Cruise Vacation

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

A Disney vacation conjures images of luxury, spectacle and family friendly fun. You can expect those same standards in your Disney cruise. The rooms are larger than on other cruise lines to accommodate your whole family. Each ship has a plenty of choices to fit any size family and budget. Whether you want to play with your family or with people your own age, you will have plenty of choices. The wide array of choices in activities and entertainment means that you will enjoy every minute of your Disney cruise.

Before you book your Disney cruise you should think about the kind of room or suite you want. There are about twelve different categories of ship accommodations. Choose your rooms based on the number of people you need it to hold, the view you would like and whether you would like a veranda. Keep in mind that each room needs to have at least one adult.

You have the option of linking your reservations and hence your rooms if you make your reservations at the same time, this is helpful if you’re traveling with a group of people. Simply speak to a Disney cruise employee if you need to make separate reservations. The category one & two rooms sell out quickly so it helps to make your reservations quickly.

Your vacation starts the minute you walk on board a Disney cruise. Whether your trip is a couple of days or much longer, you will find no shortage of activities. Parents can enjoy adult pastimes while trained counselors help kids 3-12 enjoy the activities designed especially for them. When you drop off your kids under ten, you are provided a pager so that you area always a beep away. Your teenagers will enjoy areas designed specifically for their interests.

Once your kids are fully immersed in their own experiences, you can explore all the adults-only areas of the ship. Whether you enjoy shopping, the spa or just want to utilize the adults-only pools there is plenty to keep you relaxed and occupied. Whether you intend to strike out alone or enjoy your family, your Daily Navigator will keep you informed of on-board events and activities. From on-board movie theaters, lounging in the sun, Broadway-caliber shows, or just lounging in the sun, you will certainly have a great time.

The fun is not limited to the interior of your Disney cruise ship. The Bahamas, the Mexican Riviera, the Caribbean…make sure to get out and see the sights at your ports of call. A “Shopping in Paradise Port Guide” will give you an historical overview of the port as well as good dining and shopping suggestions. Some cruise itineraries will take you to Castaway Cay, Disney’s privately owned island paradise.

There is so much to do on a Disney cruise it is impossible to recount it all here. The accommodations are so spectacular that you can enjoy yourself without even leaving your room. But it would certainly be a mistake to miss the amazing adventures that Disney’s entertainment experts have carefully designed with your family in mind. Of course, the ports of call and Castaway Cay provide additional opportunities for fun. Whether you play together or apart, this is a vacation you will never forget.

Affordable Disney Vacations: Ten Fun and Frugal Things to do at Walt Disney World

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Do you have a Walt Disney World trip planned? And are you trying to figure out how to make it an affordable Disney vacation? If so, then you will be interested to know that there are many fun…and inexpensive….things to do while there, beyond the standard rides, attractions, and shows. And if you are wondering about souvenirs, it is good to know that returning home with special Disney memories does not have to cost a fortune. Here are 10 suggestions for fun, but frugal ways to get the most out of your Disney vacation.

1. The Disney resorts are fascinating and beautiful places to visit. The Animal Kingdom Lodge especially should not be missed, as it has several animal observation areas where you can watch giraffes, zebras, etc. walk around right under the hotel room balconies!

2. Disney’s Boardwalk is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening, with a number of “beach boardwalk” activities that are tons of fun.

3. Make sure you take at least one ride on the monorail. For our family, this is a “must-do” on every Disney trip.

4. Did you know you can ride a Segway? The more expensive version of this would be one of the several Segway tours, but for free, you can have a mini lesson and the corresponding photo op at Epcot’s Innoventions.

5. Think cheap for souvenirs! Pressed pennies, postcards, pencils, pins all are quite affordable and are perfect for kids who love to collect things!

6. You probably already realize that character autographs are huge, but consider a way to turn them into a souvenir that your kids will really treasure. Tee shirts, hats, posters, cards, and even pillowcases are fun when decorated with character autographs. Make sure to give the characters a sharpie so the autograph lasts.

7. Think pins! Though this can end up being expensive if you are not careful, by starting small and setting a budget, this can be a fun….and possibly addicting…..hobby for your kids and you.

8. Education can be fun! Help your kids learn a little about each of the World Showcase countries at Epcot by visiting the KidCot fun stops, where they will do interesting activities at each of the countries. Plus, its free.

9. Don’t overlook the pools. Your hotel will probably have one, and even if you have a vacation home, you will probably have one as well. Be sure to take advantage of it! Especially in the summer, a few hours relaxing at the pool each day can do wonders for both kids and grownups.

10. Literally take time to smell the roses. After 11+ trips to Walt Disney World, each time we STILL see something we never saw before. Disney World is an absolutely fascinating place to visit, and you should definitely take a few minutes each day to allow yourself to enjoy it.

Truly affordable Disney vacations mean more than just doing everything as cheaply as possible…although that can be part of it. You will also want to make the most of your time, money, and experiences. To me, the most important part of this is those great experiences create great memories….that don’t cost a thing, but are priceless indeed!

Bellagio, The Hotel Of Las Vegas

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Opening on October 15,’98, Bellagio is one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. It is an AAA Five Diamond award winning hotel and features an eight-acre lake located between the hotel and the strip. The design was inspired by the Lake Como resort of Bellagio in Italy.

Owned by MGM Mirage and built by Steve Wynn, Bellagio is located on the lot previously held by the Dunes hotel. It neighbors Ceasars Palace to the north, Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas directly across the strip, and the new MGM development City Center is just south of the resort. Many other resorts are within walking distance. Some of these are the Mirage, the Imperial Palace, Harrah’s, and more.

Covering the ceiling of the lobby are 2000 beautiful, colorful, glass flowers that were hand blown for the hotel. They are simply stunning to look at, and always create a fine first impression.

Come see O, Cirque Du Solei’s masterpeice, at Bellagio. O means water in Italian, and the show centers around a 1.5 million gallon tank of it, as 85 acrobats and swimmers perform in and above it. Also check out the fountains in Bellagio’s eight acre lake. They move to popular tunes, and hundreds of spectators line the sidewalks every day to see them.

To see works by Picasso, Monet, and Van Gogh, take a stop by the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. For a little insight, take and audio tour through the massive gallery. Also be sure to visit the conservatory and the Botanical Gardens. These beautiful flowers change according to season and are by far some of the most beautiful you will ever seen.

Bask in the sun at Bellagio’s spectacular pool, or try your luck at their extremely large casino. Relax at the world class spa, dance the night away at several nightclubs, and dine at over 20 restaurants. All of this centers around the spectacular pool, where you can work at your tan.
