When Earl Tupper was a young man he often dreamed of becoming a famous inventor and multimillionaire. The realization of those dreams began in earnest in 1946 when he introduced his first Tupperware product to the world. This was the ‘wonder bowl, ‘ a plastic container which ‘burped’ and created an airtight seal when the lid was put on.
