Have A Fun And Cheap Cruise

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

The tranquil ocean breeze blows through your hair, the clear blue water sparkles below, and the warm sun shines down on your back. Cruise ships. What soothing experiences. What costly experiences. If you want to go on vacation but you’re on a trying to save money, a cruise ship just might be your cheapest option, that is, if you know the insider tricks.

How could a cruise possibly be a cheap way to travel? It depends on where you’re headed to and what you want to do. When you pay for a cruise you pay for transportation, food, and lodging. When pay for a hotel, all you get is lodging. By the time you add in the additional cost of transportation and food, in many cases, a cruise actually comes out cheaper. If you plan on seeing several different places, such as some islands or parts of Europe, a cruise ship is the way to go.

On a cruise ship there are ways to save money. Most cruises don’t include tours, or else sell them in expensive packaged deals. Don’t fall for them. You can save tons of money by conducting your own tour. Research what you want to see, or find out where the cruise ship tours will go, and then go there. You might miss out on a matching yellow hat, stopping continually for restroom breaks, or having the freedom to explore, but hey, it will be cheaper.

Another thing you can do to save money is obvious. Only do the free things on the cruise ship. This doesn’t mean you can’t have any a good time; just don’t do those extra things like paying to see a movie in your room, requesting special services, or eating at the upscale restaurant on board. When you are booking your cruise make sure the things you want are included, food, swimming pools, rock-climbing, live performances, whatever you need to keep you happy. Once on board, don’t do any other things. Many cruise ships will allow you to take food from their cafeteria, which allows you to save it, and then eat it later as you are on your own tour. That way, you can save money by not purchasing expensive food at restaurants.

A cruise can be the highlight of the year and a wonderfully relaxing and refreshing time. Don’t let anything spoil that precious time. Once you step foot on the ship don’t worry about anything you left at home. If you’re concerned about the safety of your home, one good way to relax is to install a cheap, but secure, home monitoring system. That way, once you are on the ship you’ll have nothing to worry about and you can enjoy your cruise.

A Second Look at Discount Travel Sites

Monday, February 1st, 2010

There are so many discount travel sites but there are some places that deserve your money more than others. Check out what others have to say in these sites and see if you agree or not.

Priceline and its name your own price program is actually a great way to book a trip as long as you are patient. My advice is to start early and inch up your price until they agree to it.

Some sites are known as blind sites because the names of airlines, hotels and departure schedules are hidden until purchase is complete. Flight tickets are usually nonrefundable and there are no frequent-flyer miles available.

Auction packages from LuxuryLink.com can be gotten at a price 50 percent or more below standard. Although discounts are tremendous, there are limitations on availability and compromises may have to be made in regard to available dates. Auction packages do not offer refunds.

Two sites you should look into is LastMinute.com and LateRooms.com. The former works with many companies within the U.S. and the latter is better for overseas travel.

Foreign travelers are finding that they can greatly reduce costs if they deal with agencies or specific airlines or hotels in the foreign country they intend visiting.

Although there are any number of discount travel sites, brick and mortar agencies and other ways of keeping your travel expenses to a minimum, always remember to read the fine print for hidden fees and liabilities.

It has even gotten to the point where customer reviews are tipping the scale in regard to travel sites, airlines, hotels, etc. Reviews are driving customers to these places. Just be careful. Some sites are paying or rewarding people for good reviews.

No matter how good the deal may sound, be sure the airlines you are flying with have a good safety record. Make sure the hotel you will be staying at is in a safe area.

Nice time to grab a few Hotels.com coupon because the expiration date.

Bellagio, The Hotel Of Las Vegas

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Opening on October 15,’98, Bellagio is one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. It is an AAA Five Diamond award winning hotel and features an eight-acre lake located between the hotel and the strip. The design was inspired by the Lake Como resort of Bellagio in Italy.

Owned by MGM Mirage and built by Steve Wynn, Bellagio is located on the lot previously held by the Dunes hotel. It neighbors Ceasars Palace to the north, Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas directly across the strip, and the new MGM development City Center is just south of the resort. Many other resorts are within walking distance. Some of these are the Mirage, the Imperial Palace, Harrah’s, and more.

Covering the ceiling of the lobby are 2000 beautiful, colorful, glass flowers that were hand blown for the hotel. They are simply stunning to look at, and always create a fine first impression.

Come see O, Cirque Du Solei’s masterpeice, at Bellagio. O means water in Italian, and the show centers around a 1.5 million gallon tank of it, as 85 acrobats and swimmers perform in and above it. Also check out the fountains in Bellagio’s eight acre lake. They move to popular tunes, and hundreds of spectators line the sidewalks every day to see them.

To see works by Picasso, Monet, and Van Gogh, take a stop by the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. For a little insight, take and audio tour through the massive gallery. Also be sure to visit the conservatory and the Botanical Gardens. These beautiful flowers change according to season and are by far some of the most beautiful you will ever seen.

Bask in the sun at Bellagio’s spectacular pool, or try your luck at their extremely large casino. Relax at the world class spa, dance the night away at several nightclubs, and dine at over 20 restaurants. All of this centers around the spectacular pool, where you can work at your tan.

The Facts About The Orlando Airport

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

The largest airport in Florida is located in Orange County. Known as MCO, the Orlando International Airport sits approximately 6.8 miles from Orlando. Located in the central business district, MCO is also the busiest airport in the state. In the year 2008, the Airports Council International ranked the Orlando International Airport as the 22nd busiest airport in the world. They received this award due to serving 35,622,252 passengers in 2008.

Orlando International Airport, also referred to as MCO, serves as a focus city of Southwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways. MCO also serves as a hub for AirTran Airways housing their corporate headquarters and operations center. Four main passenger terminals and 97 gates make up the Orlando International Airport. Many parking options are available and are conveniently located close to the terminals. Depending on your length of stay at the airport, parking options include two terminal parking garages and topside terminal parking.

Free of charge, the Cell Phone Lot offers passenger pick-up parking for short-term periods. You may park your car in the lot while you wait for passengers to call. Once you have received the call, you may find the curbside baggage claim area to pick-up your passengers.

For parking further from the terminal than the Terminal Parking Garages, parking is allowed in the Satellite Parking lots. A free shuttle service provided by the airport transports passengers between the satellite lots to the main terminals. Rates for parking in the satellite lots are $4 for the first three hours; after 3 hours, a rate of $10 for every 24-hour period is charged. However, parking in the Satellite lots for less than ten minutes is free. It is prohibited to park in the Satellite lots for more than 120 days.

The Terminal parking garages are comprised of a total 9,300 parking spaces. Not only are all the spaces located under cover of garages, all are within walking distance to the main terminals. Free of charge, a grace period of 40 minutes is allowed if you enter the lot and exit before the allotted time is up. For parking stays longer than 40 minutes, a $1 per twenty minutes fee is charged. A limit of $17 per day can be charged for Terminal parking. Parking in the Terminal parking is prohibited beyond 60 days.

To save a little money on long term parking at the Orlando International Airport, you may choose to park at an off-site privately operated parking facility. This may also be an option for those who can’t find parking at the Airport. Located a short distance from Orlando International Airport, most of these private parking sites offer free airport shuttle service. Daily rates can be as low as $4.50 for offsite parking.

Get Great Hotel Rates After Reading This

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

People are partaking in more pleasure through vacationing than was previously the more common behavior, making the tourist business boom. This increase in tourism puts a burden on transportation operators as well as placing a burden on accommodation providers. Airplane pilots, tour operators and hotels can have trouble taking care of the extra travelers, resulting in complete chaos.

Hundreds of times each day travelers discover that the rooms they carefully booked ahead have been given to someone else. Another thing that happens to them is upon reaching their hotel rooms, additional fees are added to their bill that they were not aware of when they booked the room. If too many of these problems arise it puts a damper on the whole vacation, some vacationers might very well go back home and forget the whole deal.

Snags like this will happen often times when a person does not get professional help of some kind when booking his reservations. Airports, hotels and other commodities frequented by travelers have such a large turnover each day that it takes professional experience, like that available online through online travel booking agencies, to guide a vacationer around the bends and snags and give them a clear picture of what to expect and a smooth journey to their proposed accommodations with no rude surprises greeting them upon arrival. The booking services available online are very good at providing customers with an error free vacation package, that carries with it no snags.

Why book through these online websites? One reason is the wide selection of booking agents available online. Another reason is the evident professionalism on each of these sites. You will find a streamlined approach to the booking process, as well as the payment. You can see your reservation take place at your desired hotel right before your eyes and you will also receive proof via email of this reservation. At the same time you receive an email the destination hotel also receives one. The receipt of these emails escapes confusion later. The booking company will also send you a voucher to show the hotel clerk when you arrive to check in.

Another good thing for travelers booking with long standing online services is the royal treatment they may receive by doing so. A booking service builds up a positive image over the years with repeated bookings and gains the trust of hotels and others in the tourist industry. It is this good reputation that causes hotels and others in the travel industry to offer deals and star treatment to guests who book with these agencies. You can take advantage of this, even if you are a new customer, by using the long standing booking agency to arrange your trip.

The online booking agencies continue to keep up their professional appearance with newsletters. Newsletters have great offers from hotels, travelers tips and other information that lets you enjoy more travel for less money. Any online booking service can connect to hotels around the globe, so you won’t be limited in your travel. Very nice for helping you plan more exciting vacations in the future.
